MAYOR OF NEJAPA RECOGNIZES THE WORK OF COMANDOS

Alcalde de Nejapa, Adolfo Rivas Barrios, awarding equipment to our team.

Today the mayor of Nejapa honoed the work of all the volunteers of Comandos de Salvamento that took place when we helped recover victims from the landslide last October 29th 2020. This had taken place in the cantones of Los Angelitos 1 and 2 leaving in it’s destructive path 10 victims and one disappeared.

For the Mayor, Adolfo Rivas Barrios, the performance of each volunteer left evidence of the great love for others that these young people have, under the direction of Alex Torres, who worked 24 straight days during the operation.

It is worth mentioning that without resources or equipment, harder work was done to locate the bodies of the people who had been dragged by the landslide that left the two small villages desolate. It is admirable the effort that these young people gave by going through and looking for the body of Mr. Miguel Maldonado.

The Nejapa Municipal Council also donated rescue equipment, stretchers, ropes, shovels, picks and other implements, an economic incentive to 15 rescuers who day by day gave their time for the rescue work in the landslide.

15rescue worker volunteers received some economic assistance for their enduring work at the landslide.
Delegado Saul Torres y Director Ejecutivo Roberto Cruz offer their gratitude.

The Board of Directors of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador gave their delegations a batch of masks that were recently donated by the authorities of the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance.

The masks come to help first responders to be part of their biosecurity team during emergencies that are covered daily and due to the COVID pandemic, the protection of volunteers is urgent.

The President of Comandos de Salvamento, Licda. Rubia Guadalupe Palacios de Clímaco, affirmed that it seeks to strengthen the biosecurity measures of the first-aid personnel since most of them are young people who dedicate their free time to help those in need regardless of their race, religion or political creed.

DESINFECTAN TEMPLO BAUTISTA DE CIUDAD ARCE

Elements of the Ciudad Arce CDS base carried out disinfection operations in the facilities of the Baptist Tabernacle of Ciudad Arce.

This measure is due to the opening of the buildings this Sunday where the evangelical churches will be able to start their worship work taking into consideration of biosafety measures to avoid contagion of the coronavirus.

Our country registers more than 26 thousand positive cases of COVID-19, of which there are more than 700 people who have lost the battle, therefore, the health authorities have asked the Catholic and Protestant congregations to take all hygiene measures and distancing to avoid contagion.

Comandos will also provide the medical emergency service this Sunday at the Central Baptist Biblical Tabernacles, in its five services, where first responders will also ask for the use of masks and that the protocols established by the central TABER pastoral body are met.
