42yo German Israel Escobar was rescued by Comandos de Salvamento on August 30th 2011, when the Acelhuate river flooded due to torrential rains over the last few days. Germán was in the process of collecting recyclable garbage to sell. He was able to hold on to some branches and bricks until a High Angle rescue team from the main base was called for assistance.  The patient was transported to the clinic of the main base to monitor vitals and assure stability. He was then transported home. Some CDS members on scene included Edgar Jhonny Ramos and Executive Director Roberto Cruz.
