FAMILY EVACUATIONS IN TEPECOYO

Comandos de Salvamento evacuate 20 people due to flooding.

Comandos de Salvamento y Policía Nacional Civil of  Tepecoyo, La Libertad, evacuated more than 20 people from  Cantón Los Alpes, Asentamiento EL Refugio due to heavy rains that have hit the area over the last couple of hours due to the tropical storms that have come up from Nicaragua. The elderly, women and children were taken to a makeshift shelter at the Tepecoyo school which local authorities had set up.

The National Emergency system contacted CDS volunteers and outlying bases to be on standby over the next few days.

WINDS DAMAGE HOMES IN ALEGRÍA USULUTÁN

Comandos de Salvamento of Alegría, were alerted about the high that caused damage to many houses in Barrio El Calvario and Caserío Potrerío, Cantón Quebracho, de Alegría, Departamento of Usulután

Fallen trees also block the highway from Alegria to Berlin and other neighborhood access roads. Comandos collaborated with Civil Municipal Protection teams to assist the public.

DESINFECTAN TEMPLO BAUTISTA DE CIUDAD ARCE

Elements of the Ciudad Arce CDS base carried out disinfection operations in the facilities of the Baptist Tabernacle of Ciudad Arce.

This measure is due to the opening of the buildings this Sunday where the evangelical churches will be able to start their worship work taking into consideration of biosafety measures to avoid contagion of the coronavirus.

Our country registers more than 26 thousand positive cases of COVID-19, of which there are more than 700 people who have lost the battle, therefore, the health authorities have asked the Catholic and Protestant congregations to take all hygiene measures and distancing to avoid contagion.

Comandos will also provide the medical emergency service this Sunday at the Central Baptist Biblical Tabernacles, in its five services, where first responders will also ask for the use of masks and that the protocols established by the central TABER pastoral body are met.

CLEAN UP AT METALÍO BEACH

CDS volunteers, members of the military, and people that live there collaborated together in doing a beach cleaning campaign starting in the early hours this last Saturday. Hundreds of people were armed with rakes, brooms to invade Metalio beach in order to clean five squared kilometers.

The purpose in cleaning up bottles, plastic, old shoes and other trash items was so that tourism could enjoy a clean beach. The vice minister of governing, Agustín Chacón thanked the local city hall for helping out in transporting the garbage away from the beach.

City of Nejapa Donates to Comando Base

 

Mayor of Nejapa, Sergio Vladimir Quijada Cortez signs the agreement with trustee David Martinez of Comandos de Salvamento,

Comandos de Salvamento is a public agency that for more than 50 years has offered EMS and Community Health services via there main base and 32 other affiliated groups. The Mayor of Nejapa has decided to help the Nejapa Comandos base with a donation of 200 dollars that will go directly for ambulance gas. CDS Nejapa spends around a thousand dollars a month for gas doing local emergency runs within the Nejapa and Northern San Salvador area.

 

This will also help Comandos in Nejapa who will be very busy during semana santa while millions of Salvadorans take a week long vacation throughout the country.

Comandos Attend to Injured Police Officers

Socorristas de Comandos de Salvamento auxilian a una agente de la PNC quien resulto lesionada.

About 7 members of the National Civilian Police have resulted injured due to an gunfight altercation in the Colonia San Patricio in Southern San Salvador. For now all we know is that a male officer has lost his life and a female officer has been transported to the ED at Seguro Social Hospital.

CDS dispatched more than 5 ambulances and more than 20 first responders to the scene to evacuate the injured officials.
