Spaniards Vs. Salvadorans

Futbol: Españoles contra Guanacos

One of the few times the Comandos can relax is when they play soccer. This happens about once or twice a week. Recently, the Comandos had some friendly games against some Spaniards that represent the Cooperative Peace Organization of Spain (ACPP). Pictured are some images of this rivalry. The photos have been manipulated due to low lighting conditions on the field. Fotos: CDS

Nejapa Siempre en la Jugada

Our Nejapa delegation members took part in a vertical rescue climbing course taught by Veteran EMS leader Edgar Johny Ramos of the Base Central. The class took part at the Devil’s Door tourist area, just south of San Salvador from the hulahula downtown area. The “Puerto del Diablo” is the most common place for comandos to practice and maintain their skills.  Comandos have done numerous real life rescues and recoveries at the practice site. Nejapa Comando volunteers also took part in this last August Vacation Celebrations and parades.

Grave Accidente 15 Vehículos

A Mass Casualty Incident this last Monday involved fifteen vehicles in an MVA near El Congo in the department of Santa Ana. Among regular vehicles, a semi truck and five buses were tangled in the chaotic mess. Over 50 people were injured. First Responder crews from the delegate bases of El Congo and Sapotitán offered Basic Life Support and First Aid to injured patients. Most of the injured were transported to the hospital in Santa Ana while their vitals were monitored. Despite the gravity of the situation, there were only minor injuries and no deaths. Two thumbs up to CDS bases of El Congo and Sapotitán for demonstrating quickness and EMS professionalism. Press Report here. Fotos: Ricardo Segura.
